The China Pet Products Innovation Business Model Summit Forum Held in Shanghai
On August 23, 2014, during the Shanghai Pet Expo, the China Pet Products Innovation Business Model Summit Forum was successfully held at the InterContinental Hotel Shanghai Expo. The forum was organized by the China Pet Products Development Alliance and invited 21 pet product manufacturers, distributors, and media from across the country to discuss matters related to the China Pet Products Development Alliance and explore innovative business models for the future of the pet products industry in China. This event marked the second alliance activity organized by the China Pet Products Development Alliance Committee, following the China Pet Industry Development Alliance Summit Forum held on July 19, 2014.
The China Pet Products Development Alliance was initiated by several organizations, including Suzhou Shengkang Kudi Pet Products Co., Ltd., Hong Kong Baichonghui International Co., Ltd., Shanghai Yueshun Crafts Co., Ltd., Shanghai Fubei Pet Products Co., Ltd., Wenzhou Ronghua Pet Nutrition Technology Co., Ltd., Rugao Lanbiao Pet Products Co., Ltd., Nantong Yuan Yang Leisure Products Co., Ltd., Pujiang Aibete Pet Products Co., Ltd., Zhuji Lanboer Needle and Textile Co., Ltd., and Suzhou Haagepaite Pet Products Co., Ltd. It is a non-profit social organization aimed at establishing a platform for industry communication, information sharing, project cooperation, industry standard protection, as well as providing funding, management, and services.
Mr. Yan Yongkang, General Manager of Suzhou Shengkang Kudi Pet Products Co., Ltd. and a key founder of the alliance, began by introducing the alliance's relevant details. He provided a detailed overview of twelve aspects, including the inception, purpose, essence, organizational structure, operational functions, system, differences from traditional alliances, and future plans of the China Pet Products Development Alliance. The participating business leaders also affirmed the necessity of forming an industry alliance under the current market conditions.
The summit also featured the sharing and introduction of the first domestic project proposed and incubated by the China Pet Products Development Alliance. This project seeks to integrate products, channels, funds, and ideas with like-minded partners. Through a new business model, it aims to build a national brand, quickly capture the market, and achieve a win-win situation in the context of an impending reshuffle in the domestic pet products market.
The project leader addressed specific questions from attending business leaders on-site. Some manufacturers expressed that the summit provided a refreshing change in their thinking. They found that integrating resources and collaborating in the market through such forums expanded their perspectives and improved their strategic thinking. They planned to further digest the vast amount of information received. Distributors also expressed concerns about the dominance of foreign pet brands in the domestic market and hoped that such collaborative efforts would lead to the creation of outstanding domestic pet products and brands, eliminating the monopoly of "foreign" brands. The forum concluded successfully amidst applause from the attendees.
