A Few Small Changes in Cats During Spring

I wonder if the winter-resting cat owners have felt the arrival of spring yet? The little flowers by the roadside have quietly bloomed, while dogs excitedly tug on their leashes, happily rolling around in the grass. Meanwhile, the cats continue to squint their eyes, basking in the sun.
Today, Little Di is here to share a few small changes in cats during spring! 1. Cats Start Shedding Their Fur Shedding is a regular occurrence for cats as the seasons change. The fur that has been working hard through the past season is about to retire, making way for fresh new fur to bring new life. As an important part of a cat's metabolism, fur tends to accumulate on furniture, clothes, and other places in the house. To help with this, cat owners need to brush their cats daily to remove loose fur. You can even use the pet brush to give your cat a fresh, spring-ready hairstyle. 2. Cats Seem to Be Getting "Thinner" I’m not sure if it’s due to shedding, but when cat owners brush their cats, they might notice that their cats seem to be getting thinner. This is actually because the warmer weather encourages cats to roam more. After a winter of lazy lounging, their muscles and joints need to stretch and move during spring. While brushing your cat regularly, why not take them on a spring outing? This will help burn off any extra fat accumulated during the colder months, keeping them healthier and stronger. 3. Cats' Sleep Habits Begin to Change Winter is the season when cats tend to sleep the most, and excessive sleep can affect their overall health. Studies have shown that cats usually sleep between 12-15 hours during spring, which is notably shorter than during the winter months. Maybe because the "business" of winter is slowing down, many cats take this opportunity to explore their home again or even choose a new "cozy sleep spot." Sometimes, they won’t even need their owners to call them with a brush; they’ll simply meow and snuggle up to their owners, marking their scent as if catching up on lost time from winter. As a result, spring cats become more interested in exploring new things, and their sleep habits start to change as well.
Spring is a season of renewal, and it's a great time for cat owners and their cats to "rediscover" each other. Remember to pick a sunny, breezy day and enjoy a fun outing with your cat!
